The exhibition “Trashspotting” was curated by Annika Terwey, Linda Schwarz and me in 2018 in Eppan, Italy. Among 15 artists exhibited works in relation to environmental consequences of climate crisis and pollution. The aim was to educate about recycling: on one side we had works which where designed to be eco-friendly, such as the so called “soap bottle” by Jonna Breitenhuber, or eatable dishes and plates, made out of fruit-puree, by Lea Huch. Also we showed works which where made out of recycled materials, such as stamps made out of broken tights (Madeleine Brunnmeier), some clothes made out of wine bottle corks (Carolin Rüllich and Anna-Lea Hebeisen) . A variety of ways to show how art, fashion and design could be used to change consumerist ways of thinking and adapt to ecofriendly, sustainable and second-hand options.
