The performance I created specifically for this exhibition explores female role models, showing the transformation of a "respectable" woman forced to hide her pain—caused by her roles as mother, housewife, daughter, and woman in a patriarchal society—beneath elegant clothing, uncomfortable shoes, and a poised demeanor.
Roses symbolize Mary Magdalene—the saint and the sinner. The performance begins theatrically, with the woman appearing charming and confident, before revealing her suffering. In the second act, she undresses, exposing her vulnerability. A ritual follows: candles are lit, incense burns, and pieces of paper with words like "Victim Mindset" and "Trauma" are torn apart—symbolizing rebirth and a fresh start for those tired of conforming to patriarchal roles. Now is the time to reclaim our strength.
In the final act, roses containing poetic messages were handed out to the audience.
